Day 123 - Reunited and It Feels So Good

There are a couple of players in the Flyers organization who played together before they started making the big bucks. Here they are:

Daniel Briere - Denis Gauthier - Drummondville Tigers
Gauthier's numbers in junior are pretty impressive. The year after he was drafted (20th overall) he scored 74 points in 56 games, 25 of them goals. I wonder if he'll ever be back in the NHL again.

R.J. Umberger - Nate Guenin - Ohio State Buckeyes
Umberger's third, and last, year at Ohio State saw 19 year-old Nate Guenin's arrival. I bet Umberger hazed the shit out of him.

Scott Hartnell - Riley Cote - Prince Albert Raiders
Hartnell and Cote played two full seasons together in Prince Alberta....and then took decisively different routes to this year's Flyers club.

Kimmo Timonen - Sami Kapanen was 18, Kimmo was 16 for KalPa Kuopio of the Finnish Elite League in 1874
These guys played a little more than 2 seasons together in the Finnish Elite League until they both went to different clubs in '94-'95...Sami would arrive in Hartford the next year, whereas Kimmo waited until '98-'99.

Simon Gagne - Martin Biron - Beauport Harfangs
In '96-'97, Gagne's first full season in the Q, Biron was traded to Hull 18 games into the season. I wonder if these two actually knew eachother at all.
