Ben Eager was up to his old antics Saturday night in Toronto with a questionable hit from behind on Mikhail Grabovski. I'm not sure the hit was as bad as it looked, and in fact Eager was not given a penalty on the play as Grabovski turned right before he was going to get it - and was pretty far from the boards at that.

The classic Ben Eager happens after the hit when he talks to the Toronto bench, being his usual tough guy self, and doesn't seem to get a chance to back it up during the game.

Eager had gone 13 games with one goal until he recently had a string of luck, picking up 2 goals and an assist in the Blackhawks last 2 games. He is now half way to his career high of 6 goals in an NHL season after only 15 games. I hope the NHL brass is making preparations to rename the Rocket Richard Trophy.

I think his primary role as enforcer may be suffering due to his new penchant for putting the puck in the net. He's had 3 fights this year in which he has one loss, one tie, and one win. But more importantly, none of these fights has surpassed the 4 mark for entertainment value at Drop Your Gloves. Four being, on a scale of one to ten, "Just below average for an NHL fight."

Way to go Ben. We miss you.
