Tonight's game is bigger than you might think. The difference between a 2-1 start and a 1-2 start is more significant than it may seem, especially where the team's psyche is concerned. It doesn't take Alvin Einstein to figure out that a loss tonight creates the impression, both to fans and players, that the Flyers are falling behind. Lose tonight and you HAVE to win the next two. Win tonight and your opening West Coast road trip has been a success. There's less pressure to win against the Islanders on Saturday - which usually leads to softer hands, and ability to maintain focus within the system and play your game, etc.

So here's the gameplan:

1. Hang a packet of Werther's Originals from the second level. Trevor Linden will not to be able to concentrate on the ice as visions of sitting back in a rocking chair and popping a couple "Originals" dance through his head. Note: this plan requires that you put horse blinders on Jim Dowd.

2. I'm sure this plan is well under way, as we just signed Rory Fitzpatrick, but duct tape him to a chair and torture him until he tells us all of Vancouver's secrets, including but not limited to whether the Sedin twins are sexually attracted to eachother and the city's main export ( conflicting sources sight both Canadian people and hills).

C. You've spent the last 2 days in the wilderness practicing the trust fall - use it, especially on the powerplay.

4. Beat up Jeff Cowan as many times as possible - see below.

5. Threaten to sick Steve Downie on them, whilst you "Do the Umberger!"

I was able to apply my work "skills" to something useful to create a DB (Database to the layman) of all the current Flyers fights and opponents. I cross-referenced this against the Vancouver Canucks roster and came up with the following:

Rumor has it that after Riley Cote took Bobby-Chad to town in the WHL he was forced to change his name to Willie in order to trick the scouts. All in all, probably not a bad move anyway.

Place your bets...Let's Go Flyers!
