Playing for the team where he got his start in 1990, Sami Kapanen has become the marquee player for the SM-Liiga team Kalpa Kuopio. Kapanen, the majority owner of the club with a 50.5% stake, is tied for the scoring lead on the team with 12 goals and 9 assists in 20 games. In his final year for Kalpa before coming to the NHL Kapanen had 55 points in 48 games. He hasn't scored more than 12 goals in a professional season since he scored 27 with Carolina in 2002 - 2003. Must be nice to be home.

Quality isn't great but you can tell it's him as soon as he hits the blue line. Maybe Scott Hartnell should get on the phone....
