Without Andy Delmore there would have been no Keith Primeau. Ok, that's a slight exaggeration. But with out Andy Delmore's heroic performance in Game 3 of the 2000 Conference Semi-finals, in which he scored one goal in regulation and then the overtime winner to prevent the Penguins from taking a 3-0 series lead, Keith Primeau most likely would not have been in the position to win Game 4 in the 73rd overtime. So before there was Keith, there was Happy Andy.

But like all good things it was not meant to last. The next season Delmore did play his first full NHL season with the Flyers. But that summer he was traded to the Predators for a third round pick. But things only got better for him over the next two years. He put up 72 points in Nashville and became a legitimate offensive threat from the blue line. He even had the pleasure of playing with Kimmo Timonen and Scott Hartnell. But then again, he was traded for a third round pick, this time to Buffalo. Things would never be the same.

He spent the pre-lock out season split between the Sabres and their AHL affiliate. He went to Germany to play during the lockout and after two successful AHL seasons, but not even one game in the show, he returned in 2007. This year he's the leading scoring defenseman on the Hamburg Freezers with 23 points in 36 games.

I'm not sure what happened to him. Why he was always being shipped away for seemingly nothing and why he didn't continue to progress after he almost twice had 20 goal seasons with the Predators. But whatever happened or happens he'll always have done this. And that's pretty cool in my book.

Yeah, I was at that game and Delmore played out of his mind. I remember pissing in the troughs at Mellon arena before the overtime and a bunch of drunk bastards were saying shit like "What's a Flyer" and "I'll take ya dahntahn and piss on ya". Those were the days. At least I was wearing my "Tocchet" jersey. I think that saved me from getting pissed on.

Ricky Ticky was a great ambassador for for Philadelphia. I think we may be welcome (or at least allowed to pass) in #22/92 jersey in Phoenix too.

Good I'm secretly loving this Pittsburgh debacle right now...
