On a night the city of Philly was still reveling in the Phillies World Series title, the Flyers took on the worst team in the East with what looked like a very hungover effort. I'm still awaiting word, but how could Scott Hartnell NOT be caught streaking down Broad Street on Wed. night? Or how was Scottie Upshall NOT in Old City, pouring shots into co-ed revelers at Swanky Bubbles. Flyers looked poor all night. The peco-powerplay wasn't clicking, and the entire team seemed to be dumpin' and chasing for most of the 2nd and 3rd period. Thankfully, good teams find ways to win against shitty teams. That's exactly what the Flyers did last night, thanks to Jeff "Zeus" Carter.
Cartsie is on fire to begin the year, already with 8 goals and is carrying the team right now. He's making his line mates better and his shots are coming off his stick with purpose. Another player we're glad showed up is Marty Biron. Marty had a great save late in the third period and played solidly all game to allow the deflated Flyers to hang around enough to let Zues firing one home in OT. Gotta love getting 2pts when we play like crap.
